Harkamal Singh

Harkamal Singh is an immigration and refugee lawyer who has been practicing since 2017, bringing extensive experience to all areas of Canadian immigration law. He is highly experienced in all aspects of refugee law in Canada, representing clients before the Refugee Protection Division (RPD) and the Refugee Appeal Division (RAD), as well as at the Federal Court level.

In addition to his refugee practice, Harkamal has extensive experience working on all types of permanent residence applications, representing both corporate and individual clients. He has in-depth knowledge of family class applications, LMIA applications, Federal Skilled Worker and Canadian Experience Class applications through the Express Entry System, the caregiver program, and Provincial Nominee Programs. Harkamal also works with international students, helping bring them to Canada and assisting with their transition to becoming permanent residents.

Beyond his immigration and refugee practice, Harkamal practices real estate law and is happy to assist with residential real estate purchases, sales, and mortgage refinancing.

Harkamal is fluent in Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu. He graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and earned his JD from the joint Canadian and American program at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

During law school, Harkamal was the recipient of the Voice For Justice Public Interest Fellowship, completing a legal human rights internship in India. He also served as co- president of the South Asian Law Students Association. Harkamal was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2016 after completing his articles in two community legal clinics in Windsor. In his spare time, Harkamal enjoys playing Indian classical percussion and electronic music production.
